Having had to take two weeks off work to recover from sinus surgery, I decided to finally start a blog.  I have been procrastinating on this for quite literally years, and found I no longer have an excuse not to do it. Also, I have reached the point where I still feel too ill to do everyday things, but am thoroughly bored by my own thoughts, so inflicting them on others seemed to be the best course of action.

I decided to use today to continue on my everlasting search for my own personal holy grail - foundation that is pale enough for my skin.  I have tried all manner of porcelain, ivory, spectral, paperwhite* and alabaster foundations, all of which oxidise and become orange/yellow on my skin.  Some I can get away with if I use very sparingly and go heavy with the primer, but others look quite frankly ridiculous.  Unfortunately, I do not have the funds for high end cosmetics, although had I saved the amount from products I cannot wear, I would have been able to make a purchase from somewhere such as Illamasqua, whom I know do produce very pale foundations.  I do not want to go down the road of having to mix my own, using white foundation, as I simply don't have that amount of time.  I like to spend time making other people look pretty, but I don't want to spend hours on myself.

Today after seeing many recommendations, I purchased Revlon's Colorstay in Ivory.  Lets hope I do not end up with orange-streaked tear stains this time...
